Central Houston led and assisted in re-introducing professional sports into downtown.
Sponsored a market study to determine the economic impact of Houston’s three major sports venues (2003)
- Facilitated market studies, site location analysis, land acquisition, financial analysis and voter advocacy for downtown arena (Toyota Center) for Houston Rockets, Comets, Thunderbears and Houston Aeros. Prepared market and location analyses for the proposed NBA basketball and NHL hockey arenas in 1996. (1996-2004)
- Led in planning, advocating, and site acquisition for Ballpark at Union Station (Minute Maid Park), 42,000-seat home of the Houston Astros. Conducted a site location analysis; assisted in the Proposition 1 campaign and the passage of legislation in 1997; assisted the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority with site acquisition and preparation for the Ballpark at Union Station; assisted with parking, traffic planning and downtown hospitality in support of the opening of Minute Maid Park on March 30, 2000. (1996- 2001)
