Quality of Life/Regulatory Issues

In addition to its many other programs to improve downtown, Central Houston is frequently called upon regarding various regulatory issues including building code issues, historic preservation incentives and other measures to foster and protect the redevelopment of downtown.

Previously, Central Houston worked toward the creation of a scenic district covering downtown by the City of Houston to control the increase of billboards.  It also worked with the City on providing variances to alcoholic beverage licensing requirements for restaurants and hotels within close proximity to religious institutions and schools, allowing the redevelopment of key structures in the heart of downtown.
