STORM RECOVERY ALERT, SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2024--The majority of Downtown has reopened and Downtown Houston+ Cleaning and Safety Ambassadors have returned to regular schedules. Road closures for a few blocks will continue until pedestrian and traffic access is deemed safe, but Downtown is open for business. Scenic Houston provides invaluable historic information through the installation of street markers along Texas Avenue. The markers point out the locations of grand residences, fine hotels, early businesses, transportation hubs, original skyscrapers, places of worship, fine arts venues and sports facilities that have called Texas Avenue home.
