Central Houston, Inc. is an advocate for downtown’s development and revitalization. Central Houston, in association with other entities – Central Houston Civic Improvement, Inc., Houston Downtown Management District and the Downtown Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ No.3) has facilitated many of the public and private projects that have transformed Downtown since the mid-1980’s.

DRA Executive Director & General Counsel

We are seeking a qualified individual to lead the Downtown Redevelopment Authority and perform the duties of General Counsel for the organization and related entities.  Past projects of the DRA include: Rice Hotel, JW Marriott Hotel, Market Square Park, Texaco Building, Main Street and Dallas Street reconstruction projects and seven Downtown Living Initiative residential projects.  Projects underway are Bagby Street Improvements and the new Southern Downtown Park. 

Planning & Design Coordinator

The Houston Downtown Management District seeks a resourceful and creative individual to assist with a broad range of research, planning and design projects. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Planning & Design and work and collaborate with staff members of the Downtown organizations along with associated consultants and contractors on research, planning, design and implementation activities. The Coordinator must be able to work both independently and in a number of team environments.

Administrative Assistant

This position will support the Executive Director, Downtown Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ #3) General Counsel, Central Houston, Inc. and the Houston Downtown Management District.  The qualified individual will assist with preparation of board materials, contract administration, project management, meeting facilitation, scheduling, communication with stakeholders, document retention, office management and basic accounting.
